Music Technology Projects from BW CSI

This summer, I was the instructor for the Music Technology class at Baldwin Wallace University's Conservatory Summer Institute. This is a compilation video of some of the projects created by students in this class.

The students were given the choice to follow a Foley or Film Score track for their project, and were able to choose between three videos: Pixar's "Luxo Jr." or "Mike's New Car," or the trailer from the recent "Avengers" movie.

Some students chose a full Sound Replacement track, using pre-recorded sound effects and dialogue, and adding music to create a sound montage.

The Foley track students used a Zoom H4n to record their own original sound effects using props and manipulating the sounds in GarageBand.

Other students used Apple Loops and/or a MIDI keyboard to create their own film scores for the given videos.

Everyone turned out great work this year! I can't wait to see what they come up with next summer.

Thanks for watching,
